What is Jolla Sailfish OS ?
Sailfish is a Linux-based mobile operating system developed by Jolla in cooperation with the Mer project and supported by the Sailfish Alliance. It is to be used in upcoming smartphones by Jolla and other licencees. Although it is primarily targeted at mobile phones, it is also intended to support other categories of devices.
1.Download the VirtualBox and Sailfish OS SDK from the above link.
2.Install the VirtualBox.
3.Install the downloaded Sailfish OS SDK.
4.After installation go to the installation folder.
5.Go to the path SailfishOSemulatorSailfishOS Emulator
6.Open the file SailfishOS Emulator.vbox in the folder.
7.Now Jolla Sailfish OS start running in your VirtualBox.
8.You are done.
1.Download VirtualBox for your Linux Distro from the above link.
2.Download the Sailfish OS SDK from the above link.
3.You will get a file SailfishOSSDK-Alpha-Qt5-linux-64-offline.run
4.Now navigate to the downloaded folder via terminal and enter the command
chmod +x SailfishOSSDK-Alpha-Qt5-linux-64-offline.run
It will change the file as executable.
5.Enter the following command to start the installation wizard
6.Now Install the SDK.
7.After installation go to the installation folder.
8.Go to the path SailfishOSemulatorSailfishOS Emulator
9.Open the file SailfishOS Emulator.vbox in the folder.
10.Now Jolla Sailfish OS start running in your VirtualBox.
11.You are done.
This OS is still in development , you may find some stuff not working.
