How to use Google Play Store in Genymotion

We all know that Genymotion is the fastest emulator for Android which once gave Android Virtual Devices (AVD) with Google Play store but recently they have stopped adding Google play store with AVD due to some policy issues from Google that Google Play store should not be present on emulators.
So we have came up with a simple trick to add those Google Play store to your emulators. Follow the instructions below to do it.

Requirement:

1. AVD with Google Play store – download it from below link.

[button color=”orange” size=”small” link=”http://www.mediafire.com/download/jdn83v1v3bregyu/Galaxy+S4++HTC+One++Xperia+Z+-+4.2.2+-+with+Google+Apps+-+API+17+-+1080×1920.zip” target=”blank” ]Download[/button]

2. Genymotion Android Emulator.

Instructions:

1. Download the file from the link and extract to get the Android virtual device with Google play store.
2. The file will be in the name as “Galaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920″.
3. Now you should have install Genymotion and signed in to the Genymotion cloud. To know how to install Genymotion on windows see this article.
4. Close all your Genymotion store running in the background.
5. Copy that Android virtual device(AVD) provided in step 2 to the following folder.
“C:Users’username’AppDataLocalGenymobileGenymotiondeployed”
6. You have added the virtual device to your Genymotion so open the Genymotion and start using Google play store.

I also don’t get it listed on MAC (I have dowloaded “Galaxy S4 HTC One
          Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920″ under
          “/Users/pooja/.Genymobile/Genymotion/deployed” )

        • Adam

make sure to go to oracle virtual beox, under machine you will see add. click on and then navigate to your file (Usersyournameappdatagenymobilegenymotiondeployed(the file name). then click on the .vbox file and then click done. try genymotion after that

          • adam

            excuse spelling errors plz

  • Homer

Will the google play icon appear on the home screen? My genymotion is in D drive, so maybe that’s why I don’t see it?

  • Tay94

I have this same problem. You must add Galaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920.vbox to the Oracle Vm VirtualBox run this(pop a few mistakes but do not worry this) next step is run Genymotion and its all.

    • randy

yes, open “Galaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920.vbox” first via Virtual Machine.
then run the Genymotio. its work for me.

  • Suwandy

    I’m using Genymotion 2.1.1
I already copy the folder to “C:Users’username’AppDataLocalGenymobileGenymotiondeployed”
But, it didn’t show up in the list “your virtual devices”.
    what’s the solution?

    • Miguel Casanova

      Try this folder “C:Users’username’AppDataLocalGenymobileGenymotionGenymobileGenymotiondeployed”

      • Pooja

        I also don’t get it listed on MAC (I have dowloaded “Galaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920″ under “/Users/pooja/.Genymobile/Genymotion/deployed” )

    • Nikhil

After you copy you should see this path:

      C:UsersnikhilAppDataLocalGenymobileGenymotiondeployedGalaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920

Inside that folder you will see many *.vmdk and *.vbox files.

Now open VirtualBox and select Machine->Add and browse for the above folder and import the *.vbox file.

      Restart genymotion. Done.

  • Boogers

Hi! I followed every step on the video but yet, I can’t seem to find the device on genymotion. I downloaded the old genymotion – version 1.3.0 since version 2.2.0 didn’t work for me. I looked at the comments in the link and it says I need to run VirtualBox first but it just says the HTC One is inaccessible. Please help and thanks :)

  • Arcest

After running the virtual machine it appeared to me the account friddle83@gmail.com (Vera Friddle).
Is this yours? Does the virtual machine have privacy issues?

  • partypooper

  • partypooper

I’m having so much fun with this that I had to come and check if you had already replied my question lol
I’d also like to leave a suggetion:
What about seting up another one of the tablets that genymotion has, just the same way you did with this one?
I’m asking in the name of all of those that like me are using this to play games 😀

  • Oxidine

To get this to work on the “newest” (as of this post) genymotion what you have to do is follow the video above (modify link to fit your user name) paste the folder, OPEN the folder and click the file “Galaxy S4 HTC One Xperia Z – 4.2.2 – with Google Apps – API 17 – 1080×1920.vbox” NOTE THE “vbox” at the end. Make sure it opens in ORACAL and run it from ORACAL. IF you get network issues modify network and go to ADVANCED, if you see “DENY” change it to “ALLOW ALL” and close. It should now work on your machine.
